Oh, What a Week It's Been

I have been so busy this past week, I keep running into myself every time I turn around. But, I'm getting things done. Spring has definitely arrived. All you have to do is to go outside for about a half hour and you'll encounter all the forms of weather you would care to. My ol' friend Johnny Horton(not really my friend,I'm not that old) had it all wrong when he sang "Spring time in Alaska, it's 40 below". Around here it's all the different type of precipitation that falls upon us. For example: today it rained, it hailed, it snowed and best of all the SUN came out off and on most of the day.
We had some more culture this week, the Minneapolis Guitar Quartet perform at the high school. It was very enjoyable. Though it isn't really my cup of tea, it got me out of the house and I relaxed for a few hours.
It's still a might early yet, and seeing we've had such an unusual winter, it might be a few more weeks before the steelhead show up. I keep checking the Ketchikan Creek every day and have not spotted any.
I had my first tourist of the season in my taxi yesterday. They were a brave couple, out in the elements taking pictures. We stopped and watched the eagles dive for the herring that are around now, then showed them an eagle nest that I watched since the eagles built it 2 years ago.
Well,it's way past my bed time, so I'll blog you later: K-townking
