Up In the Mountains
I had some tourist in my cab the other day that wanted to go where tourist don't usually go. So I gave them a tour of the town as we head to the mountains. Now, at this time of year the surrounding mountains are pretty much free of snow, but not this year. We had more snow then I've seen in my 30 years in K-town, so there is still quite a bit of the white stuff hanging around, and they wanted to go play in the stuff. We went up Brown Mountain about 20 miles from K-town. It was a beautiful day, the sun was bright and the sky was cloudless. On the way there we drove through part of the Tongass National Forest and they were amazed at the size of the trees. I have a couple of trees that a Ranger friend told me that are well over 400 years old and I make it a point to show the off when I'm out that way. When we arrived at the trail leading to the snow, they took off for their fun in the snow. While they were off, I took a few photos of the surrounding area. See Ya Later; K-townking
